Republican Day at the Illinois State Fair on Thursday featured the GOP’s turn to highlight its platform and candidates for the upcoming election.
Candidate for governor Darren Bailey told WMAY’s Patrick Pfingsten on PM Springfield that Illinoisans are paying too much under two-term Governor JB Pritzker.
Bailey said voters are concerned about rising crime and failing education.
Unlike previous years, Republicans avoided talking about President Donald Trump during a fairgrounds rally.
Bailey said the president doesn’t have anything to do with the problems Illinois is facing.
Democrats hold all the statewide offices, but Republicans say they believe that people are ready for a change in November.
