U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested 21 people in Springfield and Peoria this week.
The agency said it conducted targeted operations to arrest people in the country illegally. ICE said the arrests included people with deportation orders and criminal histories including murder, sexual assault, kidnapping, home invasion and more.
The operations were conducted Monday through Wednesday. The Department of Homeland Security said all of those arrested received due process and remain in ICE custody.
