2020 saw a lot of music acts have to change how they brought live music to their fans. Many did pay-per-view livestream events from soundstages or closed venues. Fans could watch these events on their phones, computers, or even TVs. Sure it wasn’t the same as being there, but at least your got to see a concert.
Now a company called PORTL wants to bring the concert experience to you in a whole new way. They can beam a hologram of the artist into your home in a life-sized way. The singer performs from a studio and the hologram image is the projected to hundreds of locations around the world. The artist can even interact with those watching.
There’s one downside; the tech is about the size of the telephone booth so you’ll a pretty decent sized space to place the it. So you know that means it won’t be cheap anytime soon either but it’s a cool idea.
