With drama-filled programs like Ava DuVernay’s When They See Us, a raw look into the infamous 1980 Central Park Five Case, and the depiction of strong families and friendships such as those on Queen SugarBlack-ish, and Insecure, a diverse offering of shows is finally on the rise.
