Linkin Park vocalist Mike Shinoda has shared a demo version of his new solo track, called “Open Door.”
Shinoda took to Instagram Live to share the writing and recording process with fans on Tuesday (March 17th), which he quickly mixed and texted to his fans via Community. Shinoda also invited fans to record their own vocals along to the chorus of the tune and post them on Twitter.
Shinoda wrote on Twitter, “I have an idea. I want another voice on the chorus of 'Open Door.' Maybe it can be one of you? Get the song, sing it, post a link on Twitter with the hashtag #SingOpenDoor and if I love something I’ll let you know.”
Shinoda has continued writing and recording music since the 2017 death of his Linkin Park bandmate Chester Bennington put the group on hiatus. Shinoda released a solo album called Post Traumatic in 2018, and followed that up with a track called “Fine” last year.
