ROBERT DE NIRO is 77, and he’s still churning out movies, but that might not be his choice. His lawyer says that he’s working like crazy, and can’t afford to turn a gig down, because his estranged wife Grace Hightower is blowing through money.
De Niro is trying to renegotiate his monthly payments to Grace. When they first separated in 2018, he was paying $375,000 a month. Now it’s down to around $100,000 a month. But even at that rate, he’s behind on his taxes.
Some people are saying that’s why De Niro has been taking so many bad roles . . . but that started all the way back in 2002. And he was in trouble with Uncle Sam before he and Grace split.
