Miss Klaus
Courtney Klaus is my son’s 4th grade teacher. My son, Jett, had a couple rough years when he began school. He was quickly labeled a problem student for having a lot of energy in Kindergarten and it seemed to follow him through elementary school. He’s a very artistic and imaginative boy and therefore learns differently. At the beginning of this school year Jett began showing signs of depression and anxiety. He thought that he didn’t have any friends and that no one liked him. He would talk about not wanting to be on this earth and always convince himself he was going to have a bad day before it even began. Courtney quickly reached out to me about how worried she was for Jett. He began counseling soon after and things have been going better. Courtney has always been an amazing advocate for Jett and never hesitates to tell him how great he is doing. She calls me and tells me how proud she is of him and tells me of his accomplishments. She checks up on him and helps him get through rough days. This year easily could have gone in a far different direction for Jett. Just one teacher believing in him and vocalizing this to him made such a difference. She is a true treasure and genuinely loves her students. I’m so thankful for her. I just wish she could follow him to 5th grade! I’m nervous for Jett to move on, but I know she has his back and will help place him with a teacher who will be good for him. Thank you Courtney, from the bottom of my heart.
