Jaclyn Hill
Jaclyn was the first makeup blogger I ever subscribed to. She’s a little crazy, very funny, and I love that she uses a mix of high end and affordable cosmetics and brushes. She helped up my eye shadow game big time. Here’s one of her most popular videos of all time.
Tati
Tati is less about actual tutorials and more about trying putting products through their paces and telling you what she thinks. Her reviews are thorough, and she’s very up front about whether she purchased the item with her own money or it was sent to her by the company. (Not all bloggers are that forthcoming.) She tries crazy, over-priced designer items as well as items you find at any drugstore in America. Here’s a recent video she did about a great $5.99 foundation (!). I know it’s great, because I went out and bought it based on her recommendation. It really is great.
Kathleen Lights
She’s friendly, down-to-earth, and just seems like a girl you’d be friends with. Her videos are very much like you’re just sitting down with your girlfriend talking about makeup.
Here’s her most popular video of all time.
The Small Things Blog
She’s not primarily a makeup blogger, though she does talk about makeup. Her name is Kate, and she got her start doing hair style tutorials. She still does them, but there’s also a healthy dose of makeup, clothing, and just general lifestyle videos.
Here’s one of my favorites – how to do a messy bun.
Michelle Phan
She’s probably the first makeup blogger I ever watched. Her videos are beautiful, and she does these amazing transformations on herself that are truly incredible to watch.
