4 Tips to Stay Healthy During Binge Season

Time to be honest with ourselves. We’re all spending a lot of time on the couch these days. Watching our favorite shows, movies, and even playing video games.

Doctors are obviously worried about your fitness and possible weight gain. But with all that sitting you also run a higher risk of a blood clot. Since that’s a serious issue here are a few things you can do to lower that risk.

  • Walk around for a few minutes every hour. Get a glass of water, hit the bathroom or spend a little time tidying up.
  • Make sure you have enough space to stretch your legs if you’re at a desk. Try not to cross your legs for long periods.
  • Stay moving. Find some time for exercise — a walk, a run, a bike ride.
  • Stay hydrated. When you’re dehydrated, your blood actually gets thicker, which can make a clot more likely.

So set an alarm on your phone to remind you to do these things every-so-often. That way you don’t forget after binging your 4th hour long episode.
