The ethical question “Can you break up with someone right before Valentine’s Day, Christmas, or their birthday?” is SO 2019. This year, we have a whole NEW dilemma.
A new survey asked people if it’s okay to break up with someone NOW . . . or if they have to wait until the social distancing and stay-at-home guidelines are over.
And the results are . . . perfectly split. 30% say it’s okay to dump someone now, 30% say you should wait, and 40% say they don’t know.
There’s a big different by age though. People in their 20s and 30s are way more likely to say it’s okay to dump someone now . . . people 45 and up are much more likely to say you should wait.
Also, men slightly lean toward breaking up now . . . women slightly lean toward waiting.
