The coronavirus might’ve killed the buffet. The more we learn about COVID-19 the more it looks like one of America’s favorite food traditions is a thing of the past.
Health experts are warning the way buffets are designed is problematic, with its communal utensils and high-touch areas. Across the country the all-you-can-eat options have been put on pause. Re-opening buffets might happen one day, but only after drastic changes, including keeping the area constantly sanitized and keeping people far apart.
