Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon has revealed the identity of the man who was hit by an Illinois State Police cruiser in Springfield in the early hours of Saturday morning.
45-year-old Charles Henderson of Springfield, was taken by EMS to Springfield Memorial Hospital after he had been hit near the intersection of South 6th Street and Linton Ave in Springfield.
Henderson was pronounced dead at 3:12am by emergency room staff.
According to the Coroner, Henderson died from multiple blunt force injuries he sustained in the incident.
