Grey Daze, the Phoenix-based band that the late Chester Bennington fronted before joining Linkin Park, has released a new single called “Soul Song.” The accompanying video is directed by Bennington's son Jaime, who also sings backing vocals on the tune.

Grey Daze drummer Sean Dowdell told us why having Jaime appear on the song was meaningful: “That's something I felt like we could give back to Chester, because he never got to record anything with his kids and I think if he'd had been alive, it's something he really would have wanted to do. So we asked Jaime to come in and it's very special. I think that Chester really would have found that to be very special, to sing with his kids.”

Dowdell said about Jaime directing the clip as well, “Jaime is a burgeoning filmmaker so when he offered to do this video, well, we couldn't think of a better way to present this song.”

Jaime explained his vision for the video, saying, “This music video is about my spiritual connection to the other side and my literal experiences with the elusive and, at times, incomprehensible presence of my father after death.”

“Soul Song” is the fourth single to be released from Grey Daze's forthcoming album, Amends, which is due out on June 26th. It follows previously released tracks “Sometimes,” “What's In The Eye” and “Sickness,” the latter of which is Number Three at rock radio.
