City man accused of shooting at police officer

A Springfield man has been formally charged in an incident Sunday in which he shot at a Springfield police officer near the intersection of First and Cedar streets.Kareem A. Mooney, 18, has been charged with attempted murder of a police officer, a Class X felony punishable by 60 to 100 years with a 20-year firearm enhancement.
