Springfield man becomes 43rd COVID-19 death in Sangamon County

A 48-year-old Springfield man who had underlying medical problems but whose cause of death was a type of pneumonia due to COVID-19 became Sangamon County’s 43rd coronavirus death.Word of that death Wednesday came as county officials said there were 27 new cases of the virus, bringing to 2,061 the number of cases in the county.
