The Morning Routine with Rocki and Lacey was joined by the cast of Shrek the Musical from Riverton High School. There’s something magical about a high school production that manages to feel both ambitious and heartfelt, their group is delivering exactly that with Shrek the Musical. From the moment the curtain rises on a storybook swamp, it is clear that this is no ordinary school play. It’s a full-scale adventure packed with humor, heart, and some seriously impressive talent. We got to hear a tidbit of Fiona’s ballad while the kids were in studio today and you can catch up below.
Speaking of music, the cast handles the score with confidence. Group numbers like “Story of My Life” and “Freak Flag” will be full of energy-It’s obvious how much work went into rehearsing, comstuming, choreography, and timing. What’s going to make the night truly special is going to be the sense of community, so come out and support the local theater kids in their production of Shrek the Musical at Riverton High School at 7pm on Saturday night or 2pm on Sunday, located at 841 North Third Street in Riverton. It will remind you about why theater matters-celebrating individuality, teamwork, friendship, and the idea that everyone deserves to be seen for who they truly are-even if they are a green ogre.
