“Elf” is considered a modern classic among Christmas movies, so it’s surprising there’s never been a sequel.
And now, we know why.
JAMES CAAN played Buddy’s biological father in the movie, and in a recent interview, he said, quote, “We were going to do it . . . but the director [Jon Favreau] and Will [Ferrell] didn’t get along very well.”
Apparently, Will wanted to do it . . . but apparently he wanted to do it without Favreau, but because of contractual obligations, it got too messy.
