“American Idol” finalist CALEB KENNEDY quit the show after a video surfaced where he’s sitting next to someone who appears to be wearing a Klan hood.
He issued a statement saying the video, quote, “displayed actions that were not meant to be taken in that way. I was younger and did not think about the actions, but that’s not an excuse.”
He added, quote, “I’m so sorry! I pray that I can one day regain your trust in who I am and have your respect! Thank you for supporting me.”
Caleb is 16, and this supposedly happened when he was 12.
Caleb’s mother says the video had nothing to do with the KKK. She says the kids had watched the horror movie “The Strangers: Prey at Night”, and were imitating the characters. She added, quote, “Caleb doesn’t have a racist bone in his body.”
