Paramore are not only recording a new album, they’ve been working on it for a while.
Hayley Williams tells Rolling Stone that they’ve been in the studio for two months and that they’ve gone from Nashville to California to work on the project. The band’s last album was 2017 After Laughter, and this new one will be the first that Williams, Taylor York and Zac Farro have made as a trio. (Farro only rejoined the band late in the After Laughter sessions.)
Williams says the first thing they did made her optimistic about the album. “We wrote and tracked something we loved and it actually surprised us. We kept joking it was all downhill from that point, but thank God we’ve been surprised a lot throughout this whole thing. I’m always waiting for the moment for us to know we’re onto something new and we’re not just rehashing the same [crap].”
