Each week on Wet Nose Wednesday we feature one of the wonderful adoptable dogs available for adoption at Sangamon County Animal Control and Adoption Center. This week we call your attention to all of the dogs at SCACAC.
Our shelter has been at capacity for a very long time. Last week there was a confiscation from a home that added 39 dogs to our already full facility. Staff and volunteers have been working tirelessly to care for the dogs but we can’t do it alone. We are in a critical situation and need help from the community.
Here’s how you can help. Adopt—some of our dogs have been waiting months to meet their new families. Foster—please contact Sangamon County Animal Control at 217-535-3065 if you’re willing to provide a temporary home. Volunteer— the more volunteer walkers we have the longer the dogs get to spend outside of their kennels. The Volunteer Application is available on-line at http://www.scdph.org. Donate—pill pockets, peanut butter, liquid laundry detergent, dryer sheets can be dropped off at Animal Control.
These are just a few of the dogs that have been waiting a long time to go home. They’re waiting to meet you Monday-Friday 10:30-4:15 and Saturday 10:30-3:15.
