IDOT has announced that a repair project at the interchange of I-72 and 6th Street will begin on Tuesday October 14th.
IDOT expects the project to be completed within two weeks. However, the project will lead to the closure of the southbound Sixth Street to eastbound I-72 and the eastbound I-72 to northbound Sixth Street ramps.
Additionally, there will be an overnight closure of northbound Sixth Street planned for 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23.
The repair project is necessary to replace a steel beam damaged in a crash.
