An early holiday poll found the average American will go to “10 or more” gatherings this year. That includes things like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and big get-togethers with friends.
The poll found a lot of us do more than one Thanksgiving or Christmas now. So that’s how it gets to “10 or more.” And all that socializing WILL take its toll.
Over half of us start craving some “alone time” within four hours of being around our extended family. One in five said within an hour or two.
84% of us will travel for at least one holiday get-together this season. 52% expect to take more trips than last year.
All that traveling adds up, too. A separate survey found over a third of travelers will fly somewhere in the next two-and-a-half months. And by mid-January, the average family expects to spend $2,725 on travel alone.
