Sofia Coppola Wanted Lana Del Rey For The ‘Priscilla’ Soundtrack

Lana Del Ray is a well-known fan of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, and fans have long thought that she has embodied Priscilla throughout her career, with her big hair and exaggerated eyeliner, which was popular in the ’60s. The connection is so well-known, that Sofia Coppola wanted Del Rey on the soundtrack to her new biopic, Priscilla. “We were hoping she could do a song for it, but it didn’t work out with the timing,” the director said in a new interview. But she only learned about fans’ correlation between Del Rey and Priscilla while filming. “I’m learning that people really connect Lana Del Rey and Priscilla and I didn’t realize that, but I got a lot of requests with, ‘How is she gonna be a part of the movie?'”
