The Library Of Congress announced its annual list of 25 significant recorded music pieces to be archived in the National Recording Registry. Among the notable albums chosen are Green Day’s Dookie, The Notorious B.I.G.’s Ready to Die, and Blondie’s Parallel Lines. Other albums recognized include ABBA’s Arrival, The Chicks’ Wide Open Spaces, Jefferson Airplane’s Surrealistic Pillow, and The Cars’ self-titled debut. Popular songs to be added to the registry include Bill Withers’ “Ain’t No Sunshine,” Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick’s “La-Di-Da-Di,” Perry Como’s “Catch a Falling Star,” Bobby McFerrin’s “Don’t Worry, Be Happy,” and Gene Autry’s “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer.”
