School is winding down and it’s getting hotter out, which can mean only one thing . . . summer is almost upon us. So, we need to lock down a summer playlist ASAP.
Our friends over at “The Boot” already got this conversation started by asking, “What’s your vote for song of the summer?” Last summer, country dominated the Billboard Hot 100 chart with Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night” and Luke Combs’ cover of “Fast Car” taking the top two spots.
Will it be a repeat of that in 2024?
Here’s the list of all of the contenders for song of the summer so far:
1. “I Had Some Help” by Post Malone and Morgan Wallen.
(PROFANITY WARNING: There’s an F-bomb at 0:13 and an S-word at 1:47 in the video.)
2. “A Bar Song (Tipsy)“ by Shaboozey.
3. “Chevrolet“ by Dustin Lynch featuring Jelly Roll. This song borrows its melody from Dobie Grey’s “Drift Away” from 1972. Or if you’re a big Uncle Kracker fan, here’s his version.
4. “I Can’t“ by Reba McEntire.
5. Any song by Toby Keith. You could just play “Should Have Been a Cowboy” on repeat. We wouldn’t judge.

(What do you think? Do you agree with this list? Are there any songs that they missed?)
