Monica Is Planning On Releasing A Country Album With Brandi Carlile

Monica is readying her first full-length album since Code Red in 2015. But the celebrated R&B singer isn’t stopping there. Monica also revealed she is releasing a country record titled Open Roads, which will be executive produced by 10-time Grammy Award-winning musician Brandi Carlile. “I realized there are no limitations to what we can do and Brandi Carlile told me, ‘Monica, stop waiting and I will help you,’” the singer shared with Entertainment Tonight in 2022. “Since then we have been working nonstop.” Monica initially said Open Roads would be completed in 2023, but during a performance last year she said the project was delayed because, “life just keeps life-ing.” But now Open Roads and her R&B album MDA are officially finished and set for release later this year.
