During an appearance on a recent episode of Steve-O’s Wild Ride! podcast, Dave Mustaine disclosed the cover song that his band Megadeth will never play live again. The metal legend became a born-again Christian back in 2002, and they initally altered their setlists and tour partners accordingly, including a period of time where Mustaine refused to tour with any bands using Satanic imagery onstage and in their music. “That was because I wasn’t sure about what effects the lyrics would have on our young fans, and I didn’t want to mislead anybody,” Mustaine said. There is one song that Megadeth will not play live again according to Mustaine, their cover of Sex Pistols‘ “Anarchy in the U.K.” Megadeth recorded a rendition of the punk anthem for their 1988 album, So Far, So Good… So What. The reason behind Mustaine’s decision never to play the song again is pretty simple. “Because it says, ‘I’m an antichrist,’ and I’m not an antichrist,” Mustaine reasoned. (Loudwire)
