Iron Maiden guitarist Adrian Smith is one of thousands of Los Angeles residents whose houses have been destroyed by the ongoing wildfires. The sad news was shared by the heavy metal veteran’s wife, Natalie Dufresne-Smith, who announced the news in an Instagram post over the weekend. Natalie captioned her post by writing, “We are safe. We have each other. We will start again. #malibustrong Thank-you for your support during these trying times.” While the fires were raging last week, Dufresne-Smith shared updates on social media featuring footage of ominous smoke billowing over the hills, revealing that their family was safe, though she was unsure if their neighborhood would survive the fires at that point. She then captured her family’s frantic evacuation from their home. “Here we are, it’s pretty nasty, the closest we’ve been [to the fires],” she said, while Smith took a final look around at their property and checked on a neighbor.
