If you plan on travelling on I-55 on Monday you may want to allow yourself some extra time as IDOT has announced that beginning on Monday April 20th a 4.6-mile resurfacing project on Interstate 55 from just north of the Sherman interchange to the Logan County line begins.
Lane closures are expected, but at least two lanes in each direction will be open except from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays, when one lane of traffic in each direction will remain open.
Work is expected to be completed by the end of November.
