Does your car have a nickname? A THIRD of Americans have named their car, according to a new survey.
The poll asked people what their car’s name is, and the full list is pretty random. But most of the answers fit into one of these three categories . . .
1. Pop culture names. Things like the “Batmobile,” the “Love Bug,” or the “Millennium Falcon.”
2. Strong names. Things like the “Beast” or the “Silver Bullet.” So, you’re either proud of your car, or you’re being sarcastic.
3. Self-deprecating names. Things like the “Turtle,” the “Slug,” and the “Puddle Jumper.” One person said their car’s name is the “Rolling Turd.”
A separate poll last year found the top things we consider when naming our car are its “personality” . . . the make and model . . . and how it performs.
The new poll took it one step beyond “personality.” One in eight Americans said they think their car has actual “feelings.” (???)
