Springfield Police and Community Groups to Unveil Community Action Plan

Springfield Police and local community groups are unveiling a community action plan to improve interactions between police and residents.

An open house is planned for today from 5 to 6:30 pm at the Southeast High School Commons.

Organizers said Springfield Police and Mayor Misty Buscher have met during the past year with community leaders to discuss police hiring and training, mental health support for officers, and engagement and transparency between police and the community.
