On Friday (August 8), the same day the New England Patriots unveiled a 12-foot statue of Tom Brady at Gillette Stadium, Luke Bryan performed at the nearby Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts, where he playfully teased the crowd by announcing a fake appearance from the NFL Hall of Fame quarterback. Bryan congratulated Brady on his statue, and led the crowd in a chant of “TB 12” to hype everyone up, before announcing, “And welcome to the stage, Tom Brady! Y’all give it up!” As the audience erupted in applause, Bryan revealed, “I’m just f—— with y’all. Oh, that is so wrong for me to do that to y’all.” Bryan tried to smooth things over with the disappointed crowd by joking, “You know, [Brady] only plays golf with Morgan Wallen. I can’t get him on the phone.” Despite the prank, fans enjoyed a night filled with Bryan’s hits as he continued his Country Song Came On Tour, with his next show scheduled for August 14 in Charleston, West Virginia.
