Springfield School District 186 Superintendent Jennifer Gill announced at Monday’s board meeting that she plans to retire at the end of this school year.
Gill has served in education for 35 years, 30 in District 186, including the last 12 years as District 186 superintendent.
She attended and graduated from the district. Illinois Association of School Boards representatives presented a search proposal for more than 13-thousand dollars that indicated a new superintendent could be selected by December or January.
