The Springfield District 186 School Board held a special meeting on Monday to begin the process of finding a new Superintendent as current Superintendent Jennifer Gill recently announced she will be retiring effective June 2026.
At the meeting the School Board voted to approve to contract with the Illinois Association of School Boards for an executive search.
The initial cost is $13,400, but the total price could reach about $50,000, depending on how much IASB service the district purchases.
