Harvest season has begun for Illinois farmers. The Illinois State Police is asking that drivers remain cautious in the presence of farm equipment: cars should slow down when behind farm vehicles and remain aware of no-passing lanes.
Motorists should also remain prepared to yield to wide harvesting equipment. Farmers are in turn advised to avoid using the roads during rush hour, and to properly clean their vehicles’ reflectors, light fixtures, and other warning equipment before entering public roadways.
