Demolition of a 160-foot-high smokestack at the former Pillsbury Mills site is expected to begin Tuesday or Wednesday according to Pillsbury Project leaders.
Moving Pillsbury Forward organizers said a crane was delivered to the site on Friday and is being assembled today.
Demolition of the five-story grocery mix building is expected to follow demolition of the smokestack.
A viewing area with seating and water will be established beginning Tuesday morning in the front yard section. Parking is available in the former employee lots at 15th Street and Phillips Avenue.
