Springfield Woman Arrested in Connection with Early Saturday Morning Stabbing [Update]

A Springfield woman has been arrested in connection with the apparent stabbing death of a man early Saturday in the 400 block of North 4th Street.

Springfield Police arrested 44-year-old Natasha Blackwell at about 10 am Saturday on initial charges of first-degree murder and aggravated domestic battery.

Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon identified the man as 48-year-old Aaron Lee Parrish Sr. Parrish was pronounced shortly after arrival after 5 am at HSHS St. John’s Hospital. Allmon said an autopsy showed Parrish died from a stab wound. An investigation continues.
