The FBI Springfield Field Office has released the results of their involvement in the national “Summer Heat” operation.
The operation was focused on targeting violent offenders, drug traffickers, and predators exploiting children.
In central Illinois 35 arrests were made.
20 arrests were tied to violent crime and gangs; 15 arrests were related to crimes against children. There were also 29 drug seizures, and 15 weapons seizures.
The operation ran from June through September.
