“Home Alone” is celebrating its 35th anniversary this month, and we might finally have an update on what some of the characters are up to now.
Macaulay Culkin stars as Kevin McCallister in a new ad for Home Instead, a company that provides in-home, non-medical care for seniors. Rather than defending the house from the Wet Bandits, he’s concerned about creating a safety plan for his mom.
In the ad, he’s seen talking on the phone with one of his siblings, and he says, quote, “I’m just worried about Mom being by herself, y’know? What if she falls down or gets snowed in? They never did catch that South Bay Shovel Slayer.”
So why is Kevin’s mom alone? Is Mr. McCallister DEAD??? Or did his parents divorce???
Later in the ad, Kevin meets Old Man Marley’s granddaughter as she’s shoveling the sidewalk. The commercial ends with the tagline: “Home but not alone.”
