Sangamon Mass Transit District is waiving fares on fixed bus routes today. Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum admission is free today for veterans with proof of service.
The annual Veterans Day Parade in Springfield steps off at 10 o’clock this morning at the corner of 9th Street and Capitol Avenue led by Navy veteran Charlie DeHart as grand marshal.
University of Illinois Springfield conducts a flag raising at 11 am at the Student Union. Lincoln Land Community College conducts its 30th annual Veterans Day ceremony at 12:30 at the A. Lincoln Commons.
