Trey Songz Charged With Assault In Manhattan After Allegedly Hitting A Nightclub Employee

Trey Songz was charged with assault for allegedly punching a nightclub employee at Dramma Night Club in Times Square on December 4, and was also charged with second-degree mischief for causing about $1,500 in damage at Mira restaurant and hookah lounge during an unrelated incident a week later. Manhattan prosecutors allege the 41-year-old R&B singer, whose real name is Tremaine Aldon Neverson, became “needlessly irate” after being told the nightclub was closing, while his lawyer claims Trey was provoked and acted in self-defense during the restaurant altercation. Trey was arraigned and released on his own recognizance, with the nightclub employee granted an order of protection due to the singer’s frequent visits.
