Springfield Police say a man was killed and a woman injured by gunfire on Thursday night on the city’s east side.
Police responded at about 10:15 to reports of gunshots in the 1600 block of East Edwards Street and found the man and woman in a vehicle.
The woman was taken to a hospital with what police said were non-life-threatening injuries.
The man later died at an area hospital. An investigation is underway.
