The Illinois Department of Natural Resources has awarded 600-thousand-dollar grants to three Sangamon County park projects.

The grants are among 36 million dollars awarded to 67 park projects through the state’s Open Space Land Acquisition and Development program announced on Wednesday.

The Village of Grandview received funding toward the construction of an outdoor sports complex featuring two bocce ball and pickleball courts, two soccer fields, a basketball court and a walking path.

The City of Springfield was awarded a $600,000 grant for development of Lake Springfield Center Park, and the Springfield Park District’s 600-thousand-dollar grant is for redevelopment of Dreamland Park.

The OSLAD program helps communities acquire land and develop recreational opportunities.
