Robbie Williams Releases Britpop Album Early Without Warning

Robbie Williams has released his new album Britpop earlier than planned, making it available at midnight on January 16. The album had been scheduled for release in early February but arrived three weeks ahead of time with no advance notice.

The surprise launch was accompanied by large light projections across parts of London, spelling out the album title. Williams also shared a brief message on social media, explaining that he wanted to put the record out immediately rather than wait.

Britpop is Williams’ 13th studio album and draws inspiration from mid-1990s British guitar pop. The project was first announced last year and had already been delayed once due to scheduling changes. Williams has said the album reflects the style of music he originally wanted to make during that era.

The early release places Britpop in contention for the current UK Albums Chart. Williams is currently tied with The Beatles for the most UK Number One albums by a British artist.
