Initial filings for unemployment in Illinois dropped last week compared to the previous week according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
About 10,500 new jobless claims were filed in the state last week, down about 12-hundred from a week earlier.
Unemployment claims across the nation rose by about one-thousand to 200-thousand.
