The beach at Lake Taylorville is closed due to what the Illinois Department of Public Health reports is a high level of bacteria in a test sample.
An IDPH notice said the beach was closed as of noon Wednesday.
A City of Taylorville statement late Thursday afternoon did not provide a projected timeline of the beach’s reopening.
