Illinois will not follow new vaccine guidelines that were part of an executive order signed by President Donald Trump.
The state will instead follow policy it adopted earlier this year that is recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics, which calls for all children to receive the MMR, flu, COVID-19 and hepatitis shots.
Trump’s order calls on states to update laws to reflect his policy, which says the MMR vaccine should be separated and lowers the emphasis on other vaccines. But states are not bound by these changes.
