An executive with the Springfield Urban League has been selected as the first executive director of the Sangamon County Mental Health Board.
Dr. Tatyana Gardner was formally appointed during the board’s meeting on Wednesday afternoon.
Gardner is currently director of health initiatives for the Springfield Urban League, overseeing a variety of community heath programs and grant-based initiatives.
She was chosen from a pool of 11 applicants. Gardner begins her new duties on October 12.
