The annual Route 66 Mother Road Festival shifts into gear today in Springfield. The event’s cruise with classic cars lines up at Capital City Shopping Center on South Dirksen Parkway and travels to downtown Springfield beginning at 6:15.
Revel in Red plays 70s rock on the Isringhausen Stage from 8 to 10 tonight.
Saturday’s activities include the Old Capitol Farmers Market, Major League Eating’s Cozy Dog Eating Contest at 1 pm and live music through the afternoon and evening.
A 5K race begins at 7:30 Sunday morning at the Old Capitol Plaza. More information is at route66fest.com.
