Dave Comstock receives the IBA Vanguard Award.
Woodward Community Media is proud to announce that Dave Comstock was honored today with the Illinois Broadcasters Association Vanguard Award during a ceremony at the Crowne Plaza in Springfield.
The Vanguard Award is one of the Illinois Broadcasters Association’s highest recognitions, reserved for individuals who exemplify dedication, resilience, and excellence in broadcasting. To be eligible, recipients must have served an Illinois broadcast organization for a minimum of 20 years. Each year, up to five individuals statewide are selected for the honor, making it an elite distinction among broadcasting professionals.
While many listeners may not recognize Comstock’s face, they undoubtedly know his voice.
Comstock has spent decades building a career in radio, becoming a familiar and trusted voice across the airwaves. In recent years, he has focused his talents on commercial production, helping local businesses tell their stories and connect with audiences through creative and effective advertising.
His work behind the scenes has played an important role in the success of countless campaigns and has helped shape the sound of local radio throughout his career.
Comstock becomes the fourth member of Woodward Community Media to receive the Vanguard Award. He joins an exclusive group of past recipients that includes John Spalding, Tim Schweizer, and Michele Mitchell.
